If you have been following me here, you know that I'm still in the DR. And that I've been slumming it at the beach, taking in the Caribbean Sea. The sand is gorgeous, just a shade off white. Speaking of white, I'm infatuated with the Joie Spring 2014 collection. Only the second New York Fashion Week effort from the twelve year brand. CEO and Creative Director, Serge Azria was inspired by a vacation he had in Ponza, an island off the Amalfi Coast, where all the buildings are white and the doors blue. Azria said he "wanted to make white not so simple". And he accomplished just that...the collection is a palette of white, off whites, eggshell, oatmeal, denim, and a hint of black. Simple in color but rich in texture, including a high waisted eyelet pencil skirt, slick leather cropped pant, and laser cut flats, that reflect the skin of a stingray.
Happy Memorial Day from the Dominican Republic!
