Houston Restaurants Weeks 2019
We’re official eight days into August, which also means we’re eight days into Houston Restaurant Weeks. Houston Restaurant Weeks is a month long dining fest or at least that’s the way I like to refer to it as. But in truth, Houston Restaurant Weeks (HRW) is the largest annual fundraiser for America’s largest food bank, the Houston Food Bank. The month long dining extravaganza features specially priced lunches, brunches and dinners at restaurants in Houston, The Woodlands and Galveston, Texas.
HRW is planned by volunteers so that participating restaurants can donate 100% of the funds raised to the Houston Food Bank. Participating restaurants make donations directly to the Houston Food Bank based upon how many brunches, lunches and dinners they sell during the event. Diners are not solicited for donations.
HRW is one of my favorite times of the year, I mean what’s better than dining out with friends while contributing to charity?! It’s the perfect time to wine, dine and potentially try a restaurant and meal you’ve never experienced. Here’s a rundown of some favorites.
Liberty Kitchen at The Treehouse - You must try the Loaded Deviled Eggs and Tart Cherry Pie & Ricotta Cheese Pancakes.
Ouisie’s Table - French Toast! It’s topped with walnuts and Grand Marnier syrup.
B & B Butchers and Restaurant - Try a burger, like the Hill Country Burger. Then take a lb of Prosciutto "Galloni" to go.
Caracol - Give the brisket enchiladas a try!
Common Bond Café & Bakery - For a small lunch and BIG dessert! Try the BBQ Chicken Flatbread, followed by the 24K Rocher, a hazelnut cake with caramel, hazelnut mouse, and ganache.
Bisou Continental Cuisine - This one has been on my Yelp! bookmarks for a while. I plan to try the Crab Beignets, BBQ Beef Short Ribs and Profiteroles.
Emmaline - Makes for a great date night!
Grace's - all time favorite! Try the gumbo and southern fried pork chop.
