Zero Bags At The #Nsale
If you’ve been around here for a while, then you know that I love the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. However this year things did not go as planned, here’s why.
When the presale email and notifications came out I took a glance, hoping to put many things on my wishlist and cart to try once the sale actually arrived in store. Unfortunately, for me this where the disappointment began but didn’t end.
See, every year my goal is to buy specific high-end items or at least items that I feel are somewhat overpriced to begin with, like workout gear, handbags, Stuart Weitzman boots, Freya bras and panties, this is especially one that I look to purchase because one bra and panty set typically costs me at least $100!
As hyped as I was when the #Nsale finally hit the worldwide web, I was sad. This year there was more beauty items on promotion than anything else (or at least that’s how it appeared to me). And beauty is exactly what I don’t need. And it left me feeling uninterested in going in-store. Despite all the beauty promos, I did manage to covet two pair of boots and two sets of pajamas. Can you believe that’s all?! I wanted to want more but couldn’t.
So what happened with the boots and sleepwear? Well, both sets of pajamas manage to quickly sell out in my size, quickly followed by these Marc Fisher boots. And when I finally made it to the store, these highly coveted Aquatalia Knee High Waterproof boots didn’t fit my 14.5-inch calves. Bummer! So, you can pretty much guess what happened. I left the sale bagless and disappointed. However, while on a short ride home, I realized it was okay. It was better than okay, and despite that, I’m probably the only person, and more importantly, the only “blogger” who didn’t walk out toting multiple bags was okay. In fact, it was great because at that moment I realized that I’d saved money. I saved at least $1,000, which is what I had spent in years past each #Nsale. I felt good, this is money I will use towards something else, like a vacation or lavish dinners for this months Houston Restaurants Weeks. And honestly speaking, I haven’t felt an ounce of FOMO.
How did you manage the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? Were you a bag lady? Or a money saver?
