Healthy Start

Healthy Start

Like many people around the world, the beginning of the year marks an opportunity for fresh starts, especially when it comes to health and fitness. And admittedly I’m no different. I try to stay fit throughout the year but the beginning of the year is definitely a time when I heavily gear up, I watch my food intake both portions and entree type and I go dry. Yes, no cocktails. And because I’m probably not on this new year, new you journey alone, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share with you my favorite healthy snacks. These snacks will help you wean off the bad stuff and kick-start your healthy eating without feeling deprived.

+ Almonds - I have fallen in love with these Skinny Dipped Almonds, I especially love the Dark Chocolate Cocoa version. I eat about five at a time and I feel satisfied. It’s the perfect amount of chocolate. Want to try them, go here. And use the code stylefragment for 15% off.

+ Kathleen’s Oatmeal - I’m a woman on the go, so these quick oats are perfect. I pop a cup of water in the microwave, heat it up and add it to the oatmeal. Stir and let sit for 2-3 minutes. And right before I head of the door, I throw in some fruit, like sliced banana or blueberries. It’s feeling, delicious and quick.

+ Super Juices - A great start to fitness is cleaning your system by filling it with veggies and fruits. A couple times a week, I pull out my Ninja and mix up me a green drink. Most people, are immediately turned off by green drink, based on color alone but this one is sure to please. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Green Drink Recipe:
Green Apple Kale

2 large green apples, like Granny Smith cored
1 cucumber, I like Persian cucumbers best
2 celery stalks
4 large kale leaves
1/4 teaspoon spirulina powder

Juice all ingredients, except spirulina powder.  Add spirulina powder after all other ingredients are blended and mix with a spoon until fully incorporated.
Makes 18 ounces.

I also love these Power Crunch Original Protein Bars, especially the peanut butter and these Nature Valley Biscuits when on the go. BTW, what are your 2019 health and fitness goals? Have you tried Skinny Dipped Almonds before? Let me know your plans.
