A Million Dollars
Remember the days of the late Robin Leach hosting the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous or what about MTV Cribs?! We all sat there watching living vicariously through celebrities and other seemingly pretentious rich people. Wondering if given a chance if we would sip champagne and eat caviar on our private yacht? Or chase the sun from the Amalfi Coast to the Caribbean? Would we do these things? If we had a million dollars to blow, what exactly would we do with it?
I would lease a Mercedes-Benz G Wagon
Yes, I said lease. I grew up with a car enthusiast so I love cars, but I’m no fool. Cars overall do not hold any value, so lease it is.
Travel the world.
I would take as much time as needed (probably a year) to see the world. I love traveling! You learn so much about how other people live. I know what you’re thinking, that sounds expense, and it can be but I’m all about finding the best air prices and bed & breakfasts. I’d rather spend most of my travel money on excursions, dining out and mementos.
Pay Off Any and All Debts
There’s no better feeling than living debt free. I would pay off all my credit cards, the last of my student loan and any other debts.
Spa! Baby, Spa!
CBD and Salt Facials, Evian water baths, and Botox! I would be a regular visitor of the spa, I mean what girls doesn’t want to be pampered and walk away looking and feeling great.
I’m a licensed realtor, so naturally, I believe in investing. I would certainly buy property in a few places, like NYC, Houston (my hometown) and California. These cities are growing, so I’m sure to get a return on my investment.
It’s no question I’m grateful for things I have but my closet is far from Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman on Rodeo Drive. So my first shopping sprees would be Beverly Hills, then off to New York, Paris and Japan. After a day of luxury boutiques and too many crepes to count, I’ll squeeze in a bit of London shopping at Harrods. Best. Shopping. Spree. Ever.
Open a brick and mortar boutique.
My ultimate dream is to own a boutique, similar to that of Anthropologie but on a smaller scale and with more interior goods and less clothing. I would gather things on my travels and sell them on my boutique.
Another great feeling outside of being debt free is giving to others. I would give my time and larger donations. In fact, I wouldn’t mind being a philanthropist. I currently make small charitable donations to several national and local charities but sometimes I wish I could give more, having a million dollars would undoubtedly allow me to do just that.
Anyway, I gotta get back to work. No champagne wishes and caviar dreams for me, YET! But share with me, what would you do with a million dollars? Would you spend frivolously or invest? Let me know in the comments.
