Jalapeno Watermelon Margarita
While I may be having a slight dry month, that doesn't mean that I can't precariously live through you.* I found this awesome recipe on Nutmeg Nanny, and the author claimed that this jalapeno watermelon margarita is her new favorite margarita and it will be yours too. Nanny also proclaims that it's the perfect balance of sweet and spicy and made with fresh pureed watermelon and spiked with jalapenos and just a splash of tequila, lime juice and orange liqueur. Sounds good? Let's make it!
3 cups pureed watermelon
3/4 cup tequila
1/2 cup lime juice
1/4 cup orange liqueur
2 teaspoons Truvia spoonable sweetener
2 jalapenos, seeded and sliced
2 limes, thinly sliced
Habanero sea salt, optional
In a large pitcher add all the ingredients and stir to combine. Gently press some of the jalapenos against the side of the pitcher to release some of their spiciness. Let the margarita chill in the fridge, stir before serving and pour over ice.
Optional: rim your glasses with habanero sea salt.
*I take every other month off from alcoholic beverages. I'm not suppose to have cocktails because of my GERD but a girl loves her a cocktail, so to ensure I don't get ill. I take every other month off from drinking. And when I do indulge I limit myself to one drink a week. And this Jalapeno Watermelon Margarita is next on my list.
