My Skincare Routine

My Skincare Routine

Over the past few weeks, I've shared a couple of routines, including my fitness routine and morning routine. Today, I'm going to share with you my skincare routine. Surprise! I'm probably the only blogger who hasn't done this. Let me first start by saying, I was quite hesitant to write this post as I don't exactly have a consistent skincare routine. I typically base the care of my skin on what it needs at the time. Yes! Like everyone else I have my favorites, that I have used for year. And love! But as a frequent shopper of Sephora and Ulta, I'm always trying new things, however here's what I'm using currently

FOR A BASIC CLEANSE
When I have on medium to heavy amounts of makeup, I use makeup wipes to remove it first followed by micellar water.  I like to switch between these makeup remover wipes - Sephora Collection Express Cleansing Wipes, they're gentle but gets the job done. When I'm traveling I like to use Ole Henriksen The Clean Truth™ Cleansing Cloths: Brightening. My skins always feel so supple after, because it contains Vitamin C. When my budget cause for something a bit less expensive, I always fall back to Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes Evening Soothe with Chamomile & White Tea, they leave my skin smooth and soft. And they smell awesome.

After I'm done with the wipes, I clean my face with Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water, it helps to remove the left over makeup without over drying my skin.

WHEN I NEED A LITTLE SCRUB
There is only one product I use when my face is needing a little extra tender care, you know, that moment when you feel like a breakout is coming on. When I feel it, I head for St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I've used this since I was like nine years old. I love it because it keeps blemishes at bay and does not dry my skin. Love it!

I also like this L'oreal Detox & Brighten Clay Mask for days when I feel like I need a scrub with a bit of glow. This clay mask helps to detoxify and illuminate my skin, I also like it because it's quick, about 10 minutes. It's also not drying, so my skin is left clean and radiant.

HELLO GLOW
Many times after we scrub our skin, we need to moisturize it. Here are my favorite moisturizers...
For Day
I like to use Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil mixed with Vanicream Lite Skin Care Lotion, my face is left moisturized with being greasy.

For Night
I like to use First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydra-Firm Sleeping Cream, I spread over my face, neck and decolletage. I like it because while you're sleeping it combats signs of aging. When I wake up my skin feel moisturized and firm. PS< I also mix it with the Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil.

THAT'S ALL FOLKS
That's pretty much my skincare routine. Not very complex I know, but I have sensitive skin so too much is too much. There are a few other products I like to use once a month or when needed, like a 24K Eye Mask. I typically use these when I'm dehydrated and extremely fatigued because that's when I usually get dark circles under my eyes. I also get dry lips, so I use Bobbi Brown Lip Balm, I've used it for years. It has Petrolatum, which provides immediate comfort; it also contains aloe vera and beeswax, which provides the perfect amount of hydration. Also, I like the cute silver tin it comes in. So chic!

There you have it, my simple skincare routine. If you have any questions, ask away. I have no secrets here.
